A wonderful shot, using a good sense composition and focus, just as a shot like this requires. The focus isn't completely perfect on the bug (a little in front of it, it seems), but who can blame you with the depth of field that a macro requires, especially not with this camera. You did a rule of thirds here, which works well because the background is varied enough to spot the composition from being bland and obvious. One option to improve would be to make the bug more a part of his surroundings by showing more of the plant in the depth of field. This depth of field is the area in a photograph that looks sharp. In this case, your dof starts halfway on the beatle's shell and stops a few millimetres closer to the camera on the plant. If you were to take the plant from above, it and the bug would be in focus. This is really beautiful. Finally an art category I can fully comment - photography! What I love is the focus, really amazing. I also like mixing striking green with small but visible and striking as well red. Maybe you should have even cropped it to a square format and highlight the macro, but this version is amazing as well!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
