Apophysis On Mac Version 1.1

So, here you go. Basically, this is just a launcher for Wine, pointed straight at Apophysis. This is the 3D hack, but it can be replaced by any version you like, by going to ~/Library/Application Resources/ApoMac/Apophysis/ and replacing the Apophysis.exe with another version. For me, this version worked best, though.

You need an Intel Mac (MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, recent Mac Minis, and recent iMacs) with X11 installed to use this. There's unfortunately, no easy way to get it to work on PowerPC Macs. I don't think there's even a hard way. Sorry to PowerPC users, there's nothing I can do. Or maybe there is? Find something, and I'll sure as hell try.

Good luck, have fun, and please comment if it doesn't work for you. I've been known to make mistakes.

Oh, note me if you use, and please favourite if you make artwork.

THIS IS FOR LEOPARD USERS ONLY
This version will not work properly on Tiger. Tiger users, go here.

Thanks Hebejebelus for your work!

When I open ApoMac, X11 star and nothing more (a black & white disc mouse icon twirling).

What I do bad?
Umm.... you'll need to give it a while to start up, I think. What kind of Mac are you using?

Haha... No problem. Just, bear in mind I've probably made a mistake somewhere, so don't get your hopes up too high.

Good news! Time to replace the old iBook at last! Can't wait...
Thanks for doing this!
I downloaded it, unzipped it, but when I tried to run it, I go this error message:

"/Applications/Apophysis/ApoMac.app/Contents/Resources/apomacfirst.sh: ?Applications/Apophysis/ApoMac.app/Contests/Resources/apomacfirst.sh: No such file or directory"

with the options of OK an Edit. Upon clicking edit, this message came up:

Open Dictionary

Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable.

I have a MacBook Pro running Tiger. Is there something I else I need to do to get the program to work?

Did you run it straight from the disk image? The folder "Apophysis" has to be moved to Applications. Try again then.

Hmmm . . . I tried that and got this error message:

dyld: symbol not found: _pthread_sigmask
$UNIX2003
Referenced from: /Applications Apophysis/ApoMac.app/Contents/Resources/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin/wine
Expected in? /usr/libSystem.B.dylib

/Applications/Apophysis/ApoMac.app/Contents/Resources/apomac

That's... really, really weird. Okay.

WHat kind of mac are you using, do you have X11 installed, have you ever used Wine before?
